This is Mrs. Mancuso’s eleventh year teaching middle school Math at the Lake Tahoe School, which includes serving as the math coordinator for the elementary school. She also teaches sixth grade humanities, coaches girl’s volleyball, and has been the LTS testing coordinator for five years. She was instrumental in creating the school’s own hands-on, research based math program.
In executing these duties, Mrs. Mancuso relies on her philosophy of combining the best of all worlds-integrating both traditional and progressive teaching methods while working with students who are transitioning into young adults. She strives to assist her students, in a safe and supportive environment, with the big changes they are encountering. Her ultimate goal is to guide her students toward reaching their academic potential, learning to take reasonable risks, developing leadership qualities, and beginning to establish relationships within the community.
