Dear Bobcat Nordic Skiers and Parents,

This Saturday, Tahoe City Cross country had generously set up an optional CLASSIC ski race for all nordic teams.  There is no charge for our team to enter this race, athletes just need to hand me a signed waiver (see attached) prior to racing. If you already have a season pass to TCXC (18 and under is $5) then there is no need to sign the waiver.

If you are interested please plan on meeting our Bobcat Nordic coaches at the North Tahoe High School back parking lot by the big blue garage doors at 2:30 pm this Saturday.  We will ski to the course, warm-up, and be ready to race by 3 pm.  We need to time ourselves so we will all partner up and run two heats.  If this Saturday does not work for you simply register and ski on your own anytime between 1/22-1/25.

Parents if you want to join us there is a link for you to register at the bottom of my email.

Finally, please tentatively save the following Friday dates for our Bobcat intramural/fun races up at Nevada Nordic.  Once we get the okay from Nevada Nordic to set up a course we will finalize these race dates.  I will also do my best to get some of our Bobcat Nordic alumni to join us as well as possibly TEA on race days.  I’ll be sure to keep you posted!

1/29 – Skate – 1pm – race order – girls/boys
2/5 – Classic – 1pm – race order – boys/girls
2/26 – Classic loop then Skate loop – Combi! – 1pm – race order – girls/boys

As always please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Thanks and GO BOBCATS!

Old Skool Classic at Tahoe XC!

Break out your wooden skis, wool pants, and a fur hat for the Tahoe XC Old Skool Classic this weekend! This race celebrates the old way of doing things, and give you the chance to get your old-style funk on with this blast from the past classic race. This race is open from Friday – Monday, the 22nd to the 25th.

This race is hosted by Tahoe XC, and all participants must register online in advance – registration here. A $20 suggested donation supports TCCSEA youth programs! Then, stop by the ticket window when you arrive at Tahoe XC to sign your competition waiver and get a trail pass.

You will receive a map of the racecourse map when you arrive and sign your waiver. Alternatively, a Strava segment will be available Thursday night. Ski the course as many times as you like from the 22nd to the 25th – try different waxes, zeroes, klister, skins, anything!

You’re encouraged to use Strava to record your times, but we’ll accept any results time – be honest, and send results to ski@tahoexc.org
