Exciting news! Our Lake Tahoe School Bobcats earned three top-5 finishes in the 2024-2025 Math League Contest, with the 8th graders placing 4th, 7th grade placing 5th, and 6th grade in 3rd place in the Math League Press* division!
The 8th grade placed five students in the top 50, led by Artyom Zhakov with a 19th place finish, followed by Swanly Kopatsy in 22nd place, Andrew Avakemian in 31st place, and Waylon Evans and Hudson Palmer tied for 38th place.
Bennett Smith led the 7th grade with a 12th-place finish, followed by Vance Ladd and Kai Ross tied for 15th place. Riley Hartman, Dean Leahy, Martha McLeod, and Elias Taylor tied for 26th place.
The 6th-grade team was led by Violet Hanbury and James Pietzke in 23rd place, Elizabeth Romano in 27th place, and Oliver Baceda and Ivana Lillios tied for 31st place.

The Math League contests give over 1 million students an educationally enriching opportunity to participate in an academically oriented activity and to gain recognition for mathematical achievement. The Math League’s primary goal is educational: to promote enjoyment and study of mathematics by organizing contests for grades 4-12.
