As the school year comes to a close, our campus fills with a vibrant and familiar energy. It’s time for our annual End-of-Year Academic and Athletic Awards, a tradition that highlights not just what our middle schoolers achieve, but how they grow. If you walked into our awards ceremony, you might expect a standard lineup of trophies. But at Lake Tahoe School, our awards tell a much bigger story about who we are.

From English to Spanish, Math to Drama, and Cross Country to Basketball, every subject and activity is recognized. These awards are the culmination of unique, subject-specific competitions – championship games, nationwide competitions, and faculty-established recognitions alike. These challenges push our students to apply their knowledge under pressure, think on their feet, and dive deeper into the subjects, sports, and extracurriculars they love.

What truly makes our community so special is looking at who is taking home these awards. Our top performers aren’t boxed into a single category. Our star athletes can be chess champions, our math league winners are the same students commanding the stage in the school play, and our cross-country runners are pushing boundaries in the Science classroom.

This across-the-board excellence is a testament to our school’s culture and community. Lake Tahoe School is a rare place where kids can feel entirely comfortable trying anything and everything. There are no social barriers keeping students in a single lane. Here, they are encouraged by their teachers, coaches, and peers to explore every interest and feel part of something bigger than themselves.

While the certificates and trophies are a wonderful acknowledgment of their hard work, the real prize is the mindset our students build along the way. As our graduates prepare to turn the page and step out into life, we are sending them into the world with a foundation of academic facts as well as the confidence to try everything, the courage to fail, and the persistence to keep trying.

Congratulations to all of our Middle School award winners and to every single student who stepped outside their comfort zone this year. You represent the very best of Lake Tahoe School.
