Thank you to everyone who joined us for a truly unforgettable evening with best-selling author and motivational speaker, Kirsten Jones! On September 16 at Lake Tahoe School in Incline Village, Kirsten shared her invaluable insights on how parents and coaches can better support their young athletes.

As a Hall of Fame NCAA Division I volleyball player and former NIKE executive, Kirsten’s professional accomplishments are impressive, but what truly resonated was her firsthand experience as a parent who has navigated the youth sports journey with her three children. This unique perspective allowed her to connect with our audience on a deeply personal level, sharing both the triumphs and challenges of the “roller coaster ride that is youth sports.”

Kirsten’s core message centered on helping athletes move “out of their heads and into their bodies.” She shared powerful strategies for managing performance pressure and building resilience. She stressed the importance of focusing on an athlete’s strengths and helping them feel their best, which in turn allows them to perform beyond what they thought was possible.

A highlight of the presentation was the focus on practical, actionable advice. Kirsten provided families with concrete strategies to balance the demands of school, practice, and competition. Her tips were designed to help everyone in the family, not just the athlete, find a healthier and more sustainable rhythm.

The presentation was a powerful reminder that our role as parents and coaches is not just to cheer from the sidelines, but to actively empower the next generation of students with the tools they need to succeed both on and off the field.
