The Lake Tahoe School 8th grade girls basketball team got off to a dominant 4-0 start in league play. The Bobcats were led by 8th graders Ivy Batmale, Kylie Reeth, and Carly Weinberger. The team finished the regular season with an impressive 5-1 conference record, qualifying them for the competitive Tah-Neva tournament. The Bobcats were guided by their incredible work ethic and a tenacious defense. Head Coach Shane Goddard noted, “I was most impressed with our group’s positive attitude as a group and willingness to be coached and learn.” At championships, the girls played two tough big schools, Alder Creek from Truckee and Eagle Valley from Carson City, unfortunately losing both games. While the team is sad that the season has come to an end, they are already looking forward to next year. The future is in good hands with five returning seventh grade players including Katie Belle Rau, Jordan Thralls, Evee Propst, Kayla Green, and Sabrina Ottaway. All poised to take the program to the next level.

The young and inexperienced 7th grade girls team, which was all 5th and 6th grade girls, had a fun season. The girls played hard throughout the season and learned many valuable skills and lessons along the way. They were not successful in qualifying for the championship tournament. However, the future of the LTS girls basketball program looks bright as these girls are looking forward to returning next year eager to improve and grow as basketball players!
