Within a very short walk of Lake Tahoe’s pristine northern shores lies Lake Tahoe School, a PreK-8 private school that has become the best-kept secret and school of choice among Bay Area parents eager to escape all the urban traffic and pressure.

Lake Tahoe School offers a Bay Area-quality education at lower tuition than its peer schools in the greater San Francisco area, has recently appointed an accomplished school leader as its new Head of School, and is celebrating its 21st year of academic excellence.

Our former Bay Area families come to Tahoe for a lifestyle change, and, in many cases, to allow themselves or their children to more fully pursue their passion for either recreational skiing and snowboarding or competitive alpine ski racing.

Our “Skier’s Edge” program affords Lake Tahoe School students incomparable on-snow opportunities during the winter months, and our teachers work very hard to accommodate the training needs of the competitive ski racer without compromising our school’s high academic standards.
