Ways To Give

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. While the tuition cost covers the majority of student educational materials and activities, it does not cover the full cost of Lake Tahoe School’s day-to-day operations. Annual giving is a vital component of Lake Tahoe School’s ability to operate, and we depend upon participation from our whole school community. Annual giving strengthens and sustains the extraordinary opportunities provided by a Lake Tahoe School education. Every contribution makes a difference, and all financial gifts to Lake Tahoe School are tax deductible.

There are several different ways that you can donate to the School:

Financial Gifts are outright cash donations. These are unrestricted funds, given to the school to support the mission and vision of the school. These are considered the highest form of philanthropy and a vital part of the school’s success. Accepted forms of payment include:

  • Cash: Cash payments can be dropped off at the front desk in an envelope with the donor’s name on it.
  • Check: Checks can be made payable to Lake Tahoe School and mailed or dropped off at the front office.
  • ACH (Bank Transfer): Please contact the Business Office for more information on initiating your bank transfer.
  • Securities: Lake Tahoe School accepts transfers of securities. The value of the donation will be based on the full value of the stock at the time Lake Tahoe School takes possession of the stock.

Gifts In-Kind are donations of needed goods and services rather than money. An in-kind gift must be approved by the Director of Development and Head of School before the school can accept it. In-kind gifts have complicated rules and regulations about valuation and tax credits so be sure to consult a tax expert before giving.

Matching Gifts are an employee benefit that hundreds of companies worldwide offer their employees. Companies will match their employees’ philanthropic contributions. Check to see if your employer offers matching gifts to double your gift to the school.
