Though she grew up in sunny San Diego, California, Deena Mathis loves the cold weather and snow. She moved here from Fort Collins, Colorado and has an extensive background in educational administration. She was formerly the Dean of Girls at a private boarding school in Texas, has directed summer camps for orphans in Kazakhstan, and mission work in Mexico. She most recently worked in business development at Grand Canyon University. She is a licensed facilitator for a parent/child education program called Positive Steps and enjoys public speaking. Though she doesn’t ski or snowboard, Ms. Mathis loves to hike and is eager to try paddle boarding and kayaking when the weather warms up. She has two children, Jordan and Taylor.
